TWO WEEKS!!!

Okay, it's feeling very real now, as boxes are filling my living room, my yard sale pile is growing, I no longer have a job, and everywhere I go, it seems I am saying goodbye for a while to someone. It's hard to imagine that in just over two weeks, I'll be waking up to new sounds, new smells, new tastes, and all kinds of wonderful new sites. Brian leaves this Tuesday to find us a place to live (in five days!) and then we get serious about trying to figure out exactly what we will need for nine months that will fit into 34 giant duffle bags! The skycap we choose is going to have quite a story to tell on the day we fly out. :) This weekend, I was at Sonburst, a statewide conference put on by InterVarsity, and one of the speakers mentioned that he had gone to Manila with his family for a year several years ago. I asked him about his experience and he told me to be prepared to be heartbroken, as I will see the most generous hospitality ever, as people will want to bless us with gifts that they wouldn't even be able to afford for themselves. Wow, I have so much to learn about love and selflessness. I can't wait.
